- This questionnaire collects data anonymously. To function however, some basic data is captured. This is used in three ways:
- As part of basic process of allowing users to progress from one question to the next;
- To store the answer to each question in a database, which is referenced against this anonymous identity in the form of a cookie (which itself is composed of a randomised, anonymous string of characters);
- To provide some basic context for respondents through generating a 2-letter country-code of their general geographic location e.g. 'US' (for respondents located in United States) as well as the date and time for respondents who optionally decide to identify themselves upon completion of the questionnaire. You may also choose to identify yourself through submitting an email address with feedback about the process (although neither feedback nor your email address are mandatorily required to complete the questionnaire). How do students beginning the Digital Media Design unit make sense of the subject? **demo**
We create narratives to make sense of our experiences all the time. This questionnaire hopes to develop insight into common narratives produced by Digital Media Design students whose interpretation of the subject has been defined in terms of a diverse set of experiences, many of which aren't necessarily cognate with the taught academic programme.
The questionnaire uses an approach, which uniquely allows respondents to interpret their experiences metaphorically through a process of emplotment.
